| So then, stop doing anything to hurt others. Don't lie anymore, ... - Friday, February 17, 2012
Scripture: So then, stop doing anything to hurt others. Don't lie anymore, and
stop trying to fool people. Don't be jealous or say bad things about
others. Like newborn babies hungry for milk, you should want the
pure teaching that feeds your spirit. With it you can grow up and be
saved. 1 Peter 2:1-2 ERV
Prayer: Dear Lord, I have at times felt like a slave to my feelings. I
felt compelled to do these kinds of things. But thanks to You, I can
make better choices by overriding what I feel with the strength and
help You give me through Your Spirit. Help me learn to live in You,
grow more mature in You, and put away any behavior that would hurt
our relationship. In Jesus' precious name we pray. Amen. |

| Beautiful Spelling of JesUs! - Friday, August 12, 2011
THE U IN JESUS
Before U were thought of or time had begun, God stuck U in the name of His Son..
And each time U pray, you'll see it's true, You can't spell out JesUs and not include U.
You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name, For U, He was born; that's why He came.
And His great love for U is the reason He died.
It even takes U to spell crUcified.
Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand He rose from the dead, with U in His plan?
The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew, And this word resUrrection is spelled with a U.
When JesUs left earth at His Upward ascension, He felt there was one thing He just had to mention.
"Go into the world and tell them it's true That I love them all - Just like I love U."
So many great people are spelled with a U, Don't they have a right to know JesUs too?
It all depends now on what U will do,
He'd like them to know,
But it all starts with U.
Will U pass it on.
When Jesus died on the cross he was thinking of you! If you are one of the 7% who will stand up for him, forward this.
93% of people won't forward |
| Ten Commandments for Peace of Mind - Monday, July 04, 2011
1. Do Not Interfere In Others' Business Unless Asked
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others'
affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our
way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do
not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality andconsequently the existence of God Who has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way.
All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts
them that way. There is God to look after everything. Why are you
bothered? Mind your own business and you will keep your peace.
2. Forgive And Forget
This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often develop ill
feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us.
We nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep,
development of stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or
injury was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by
constantly remembering it. Get over this bad habit. Believe in the
justice of God. Let Him judge the act of the one who insulted you.
Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forgive, Forget, and march
on. Love flourishes in giving and forgiving.
3. Do Not Crave For Recognition
This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody
without selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in
power or useful to them, but no sooner than you are powerless, they
will forget your achievement and will start finding faults in you. Why
do you wish to kill yourself in striving for their recognition? Their
recognition is not worth the aggravation. Do your duties ethically and
sincerely and leave the rest to God.
4. Do Not Be Jealous
We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind.
You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but
sometimes they get promotions; you do not. You started a business
several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbor
whose business is only one year old. There are several examples like
these in everyday life. Should you be jealous? No. Remember
everybody's life is shaped by Nature, which has now become his/her
destiny. If you are destined to be rich, nothing in the world can stop
you. If you are not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing
will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will
not get you anywhere; it will only take away your peace of mind.
5. Change Yourself According To the Environment
If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the chances are
you will fail. Instead, change yourself to suit your environment. As
you do this, even the environment, which has been unfriendly to you,
will mysteriously change and seem congenial and harmonious.
6. Endure What Cannot Be Cured
This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage.
Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and
accidents that are beyond our control. If we cannot control them or
change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn
to endure them cheerfully thinking, "God wills it so, so be it." God's
plan is beyond our comprehension. Believe in it and you will gain in
terms of patience, inner strength and will power.
7. Do Not Bite Off More Than You Can Chew
This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take
more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. This is
done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. Why take on additional
loads that may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by
expanding your external activities. Reduce your material engagements
and spend time in prayers, introspection and meditation. This will
reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless. Neat mind
will produce greater peace of mind.
8. Meditate Regularly
Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is
the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it yourself. If
you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend
to become peaceful during the remaining twenty-three and half-hours.
Your mind will not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would
benefit by gradually increasing the period of daily mediation. You may
think that this will interfere with your daily work. On the contrary,
this will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce
better results in less time.
9. Never Leave the Mind Vacant
An empty mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in the
vacant mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something
worthwhile. Actively follow a hobby. Do something that holds your
interest. You must decide what you value more: money or peace of mind.
Your hobby, like social and charitable work, may not always earn you
more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement.
Even when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy
reading or mental chanting of God's name.
10. Do Not Procrastinate and Never Regret
Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or shouldn't I?"
Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental
debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate
all future happenings. Always remember, God has His own plan, too for
you. Value your time and do the things that need to be done. It does
not matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your
mistakes and succeed the next time.
Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Do not brood over the
past. DO NOT REGRET. Whatever happened was destined to happen only
that way. Take it as the Will of God. And learn to submit to It.You do
not have the power to alter the course of God's Will. Why cry over
spilt milk? PRAISE THE LORD! AMEN. |
| How True - Wednesday, March 02, 2011Someone has written these beautiful words. One must read and try to understand the deep meanings in them. They are like the Ten Commandments to follow in life all the time.
1] Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble; it is a "steering wheel" that directs us in the right path throughout life.
2] Do you know why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on.
3] Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes a few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.
4] All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong don't worry, they can't last long either.
5] Old friends are like Gold! New friends are Diamonds! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a base of Gold!
6] Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!
7] When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.
8] A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision."
9] When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them; and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.
10] WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES; it takes away today's PEACE. |
| Can I borrow $5?Can I Borrow $5? - Friday, January 28, 2011A woman came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find her 5-year old son waiting for her at the door.
SON: 'Mummy, may I ask you a question?'
MUM: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the woman.
SON: 'Mummy, how much do you make an hour?'
MUM: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the woman said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
MUM: 'If you must know, I make $20 an hour.'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: "Mummy, may I please borrow $5?"
The mother was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy.
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The woman sat down and started to think.
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $5 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The woman went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' She asked.
'No Mummy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the woman.
'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $5 you asked for.'
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you Mummy!' he yelled.
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The woman saw that the boy already had money.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his mother.
'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the mother grumbled.
'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.
'Mummy, I have $20 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'
The mother was crushed. She put her arms around her little son, and she begged for his forgiveness.
It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $20 worth of your time with someone you love.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives Please don't break this even if you only send it to one person.

| Bank Account - Wednesday, January 05, 2011This is something we should all remember.
A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.
His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready. As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window. I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.' 'That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied.
Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love
it. 'It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away.. Just for this time in
my life. Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.
So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories!
Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank. I am still depositing.
'Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less. |
